Coastal White Seabass on Boss Extreme Reels
> Next I got bit on a flylined squid. Another trip around the boat and Chuck sunk the gaff in a 35# white seabass. Next Chuck got bit on a flylined squid with a small egg sinker. He got smoked and was finally able to turn the fish. Richard sunk the gaff in another 35# seabass. Next Richard caught a 30# class seabass and Chuck and I each caught another. We fished until 0200 and had a steady pick. I broke one off and Richard pulled the hook on another one. All in all we ended up with 5 seabass from 30 - 35# and one 40# yellowtail

RR3 JUNE HEAT & ACCURATE

On May 29th the Red Rooster III set sail on her annual 15 day “June Heat” Accurate Fishing Products trip with Captain Andy Cates at the helm. The trip started out drift fishing in the “buffer zone” at Clarion Island. We were soon rewarded with fair action on medium grade 60# to 100# Yellow Fin Tuna. After four days of decent fishing on YFT we set sail for Hurricane Bank in hopes of finding some biting Wahoo. We weren’t disappointed as most people got close to Mexican limits of the “Skinnies” before we headed back to the Clarion, hopefully for action on a better grade of Yellow Fin.
We arrived mid-morning on the 6th day of fishing and set out on a drift in a bird school. We were immediately rewarded with non-stop action on the kite and fly-lined sardine with 150# to 300 plus pound YFT. Many of the fishermen were using some of the $75,000 worth of Accurate loner reels and Cal Star and Seeker rods and were very appreciative to experience the use of premium equipment.
The action on YF Cow style fishing continued for two days until there was no room left in the fish holds. The last day we released anything that was under 200#’s. With the fish holds full and many tired Fishermen Andy pointed the bow to the North and we headed for San Diego.
During the trip Accurate provided tee shirts for all and daily jackpots of various prizes including three beautiful Accurate Boss Reels. Lucky reel winners were Thad Peach, Joe Arimitsu and Allen Jackson. In addition “Wild” Bill Walsh will have his choice of any Accurate Reel up to an Atd 50-wide for catching the largest 300# YFT on an Accurate ATD 80 kite rig.
The final count was 180 Yellow Fin Tuna and 140 Wahoo. The catch included 3 tuna over 300#’s and 39 tuna over 200#’S. Jackpot winners were:
1st place Thad Peach 305.5# YFT
2nd place “Wild” Bill Walsh 302.1# YFT
3rd place Sam Olson 298.5# YFT
Once again the Red Rooster III Accurate “June Heat”trip turned out to be a trip of a lifetime for most on board. A special thanks to the Red Rooster crew (Joe, Tommy, Fernando, Nick and Ricky, the fabulous cook Rick and helper Stan and of course Captain Andy Cates for another outstanding performance.

The fish taped on the Rooster's deck at 302.
Will it weigh 300 at the docks? I did not get my hopes up but it could go either way. Weigh in at the landing was 302.2 Yea!!
Wish every angler could expierence that feeling... An Accurate sponsored Long Range trip allowed me to get my biggest fish and as a bonus for catching a tuna over 300# gave me my choice of reel up to a 50 Wide.
I recieved my ATD-50T two days ago. It will be put to good use for sure...
Thanks Jack...
