ACCURATE & RED ROOSTER 11/2011
The annual Accurate & Red Rooster III open charter was again an amazing success. Great " drift fishing " for yellowfin tuna and wahoo. We fished the " buffer Zone " outside of Isla Clarion, Mexico.Accurate provided $75,000.00 of loaner gear for anglers to use at no charge. This is standard procedure on all Accurate hosted Long Range trips.
Accurate and the Red Rooster III
have scheduled the same trip for November 2012.

CHUCKY VAN WARMER WINS EAST CAPE BISBEE
Chucky Van Warmer landed a 557 Blue Marlin to win the recent East Cape Bisbee Tournament. Chucky did the deed using an Accurate ATD 80 reel.

Excel Pat Gallagher Trip
Nice weather and all the fish you could want came to the 30 anglers on the annual Gallagher trip aboard Excel. Justin Fleck docked the big rig at Fisherman’s Landing September 2 with near-limits around. Large tuna were hooked and fought at Alijos Rocks during the trip, but few were landed, said skipper Fleck, because of the voracious sharks in the area.
Excel regular fisherman Mike Rangell of Pico Rivera won second place for his stunning 76-pound wahoo. He got it on the iron, on a chrome/pink Raider jig he tied to 50-pound Big Game line on an Accurate BX-2 500 reel (won on a trip with Bill Roecker) and a Calstar 856 XH rod. It was the best skinny of the season so far.

Outstanding Yellowtail At 13 Spot
Eric Weldele brought Qualifier 105 home to Pt. Loma Sportfishing August 20 after a seven-day trip with 25 anglers.
“We found good water on the way home,” he said. “I told the crew to throw bait on the small yellowfin at 140 to 160 miles, and they bit good. Fishing for yellowtail was also outstanding at the 13. They were so thick you could see ‘em under the boat. “
Jonas Hodges of Studio City won first place. He caught a 106.6-pound tuna on a sardine and a 2/0 Gamakatsu hook tied to 50-pound Izorline fluorocarbon. He said he used 80-pound Izorline spectra on an Accurate BX-2 500 reel and a Super Seeker 6470 H rod.

John Swanney Lands the JP
John Swanney landed the Jackpot fish on a recent Warren Kelly charter on the Relentless out of H & M landing, San Diego. The Kelly Charter is thought to be the longest continuously operated charter in San Diego, started in 1950.
John landed the nice 30 + pound albacore using an Accurate Boss 270 Magnum reel.
